Disclaimer: I don’t want you to buy more trendy stuff in order to be fashionable.
What I want you to do is to use this information to make informed decisions about how you spend your money, time, and energy when it comes to shopping. And I especially hope you can shop your own closet and find stuff you might not have worn in a while and now you can see it is a great way to update your wardrobe without spending anything more than your creativity.
Trends are clues of what you will find popular and available in stores. Not every trend is worthy for everybody, and most people can’t and won’t follow every trend each season. But learning about them is a great way to become more focus on our personal style, pick and choose the best fit to show some layers of our personality and update a look with well-thought choices in clothes and/or accessories.
These are 10 top trends I believe they are good starting points.
1.Partying like a disco queen.
Say hi to shiny metallics and sequins! It doesn’t matter if you are not that into the 70’s fashion style, a party queen this season is ready to shine in glam.
2. High waists.
Buckle up for this trend. Large baggy clothes are in but also is finding your upper waist. The clothes’ cut might be high-waisted or maybe it comes to you to make it appear with a belt. Styling tip: High waisted trousers and jeans look amazing with cropped and/or boxy tops.
3. Lavender.
Pastel colors are trendier than ever, but the star tone of this summer is lavender. Give it some flexibility to be pinkier or bluish, but you can use it on accessories or as a statement piece. It is the perfect alternative for a fresher ultraviolet tone.
4. Sheerness.
Sheer fabric details are not new, but this season sheerness is getting more attention and you will find it from trousers to trench coats, and from clear to colored. My favorite way of wearing this trend is layered as a dress and in accessories.
5. Jumpsuits.
I like to think about jumpsuits as the perfect updated look for a dress occasion. But informal and flowy versions are available for the heat of the season in every color and print you can imagine. Style tip: Don’t sweat it when it comes to shoes. Jumpsuits look great with flat sandals.
6. Neon hues.
Under daylight or ultraviolet light, this trend is not suitable for the shy ones. Yellow, pink, orange, green. Look for inspiration in every highlighter you can think about. High voltage contrasts work fantastic with neon hues so don’t be afraid of mixing two or more colors on the same look.
7. Knits.
It might seem counterintuitive, but knitted items are a fantastic way to add some texture to a Summer look.
8. Bustiers.
Femme fatale vibes everywhere! Structured pieces that frame the upper body and elevates the female figure to sensual heights.
9. Mixed florals.
Because just want flowery print is not enough, the season calls for mix and matching blossoming prints.
10. Ready for a dive.
Hi-tec aquatic sports’ fabrics are not new to ready-to-wear fashion, and this season is not the exception. The athleisure trend gets more fashionable and you can see adaptations of scuba diving fits and materials as one of the biggest bets this Summer.
