Oh, the tragedy of not being part of the «regular sizing»! That infamous slice of numbers that makes me -and a lot more of fellow vanity- size rebels, as I like to call anyone who fit in the no- fitting apparel- cringe when I can’t find even the most simple piece of clothing.
Well, I am sorry you have a hard time finding the appropriate fit when it come to trousers, because it can be extremely frustrating and I totally get that feeling.
On the other hand, you must know that it is very uncommon to find a piece of clothing that fits perfectly just the way they are. Mass clothing has been designed to fit a large amount of people in one way or another but, as it happens with generalizations, it will leave most of people semi- happy with their find. That is why I always recommend to have a couple of tailors among your contacts, and separate some money from their shopping budget to get their clothes fixed. Do not overthink it and, specially, do not get frustrated because you finally got a pant suit you love, but it is too long. If it fits fine at the waist and butt, just ask someone from the store if they have in- house tailor fixes. A lot of times (more often at department stores), they will be able to provide the service and, even, with no charge. If they don’t have it, just bring it to another tailor and ask if the can fix them for you ( fixing the length of pant’s legs are easier and less expensive than the inseam, for example). Do your math and decide if you are fixing it and keeping it or it is better to be returned.
For people who might be interested in a wider range of sizes, check out Eloquii. They carry great work apparel from size 14 and up. Nordstrom Rack (I prefer online better than the brick- and- mortar visits) carry great items in petite.
